Hello Everyone,
Drayton Valley Minor Baseball offers baseball opportunities for most ages and skill levels. Baseball strengthens muscles and improves the neurological pathways that control these motor skills helping young brains get better at sending quick, accurate signals to the body, enhancing coordination and reaction times in all aspects of life.
Many pro hockey players including Wayne Gretzky played baseball and other sports when they were young. According to Gretzky: “It helped my hockey career so much,” he said of baseball. “The thinking and hand-eye coordination you need in baseball only helped and enhanced my hockey career.”

Leagues from the ages 7 through 11 play in town based house league and do not travel to other communities unless they are exhibition games. The CABL league accommodates 11U but we have chosen to run local house league instead. We may enter teams in 11U CABL if parents are interested. All players play equal time in these leagues.
It includes rural communities such as Sylvan Lake, Lacombe, Rocky Mountain House, Rimbey etc. Teams play home and away games two times per week with the occasional weekend makeup game. Cable accommodates ages 13 through 18 and is considered A level baseball. All players bat and players may be rotated depending on the size of the team.
The season runs from the beginning of May to the end of June. Contact cabldirector@dvbaseball.net to learn more.
Provincial 'AA' baseball is a competitive developmental league for players/teams for 11U, 13U, 15U, and 18U age groups. The league is Alberta wide and teams compete in Provincial Finals at seasons end.
AA Baseball requires a higher level of commitment including two practices per week and up to three games on weekends. Players may be required to compete for roster spots. Contact repdirector@dvbaseball.net for more information.
Baseball Alberta provides criteria for each age group and more information can be found on their website. Players may move up to older age groups with the permission of the Drayton Valley Baseball. In some divisions, overage players can participate but may not be able to pitch. Contact the registrar for more information.
